The basic notions of the Olympic values are generosity, tolerance, equality, understanding and international cooperation, unification, cultural exchanges, the development of sport and its educational aspects, fair play and the promotion of a global society concerned with human dignity and peace.
The Olympic Games have always brought people together in peace to respect universal moral principles. “The goal of Olympism is to place sport at the service of the harmonious development of man, with a view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity. The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practicing sport,
without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play. Any form of discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender or otherwise is incompatible with belonging to the Olympic Movement.” Olympic Charter On the occasion of the 30th Olympic Games in London 2012 Sports for Peace plans to stage its Gala event to honour Muhammad Ali at a prestigious venue in London on the evening of Wednesday of Sunday, 25th of July 2012. The goal of the evening is to praise the Olympic ideals and to convey its message, raising awareness for such important and inspirational causes as The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center.
All income from ticket sales, pledges and auction shall go to charitable causes.
